On the 12th January, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scalestruck Haiti and its epicenter occurred in its capital city,Port-au-Prince. This earthquake has left an unknown number of victimsand substantial material damages.
Haiti’s very serious situation turned even worse when on the 20thJanuary, at 6.00 am a new 6.1 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scalestruck again the area. This time the epicenter was located 59kilometers northwest of the capital city Port-au-Prince and caused newcollapses in the already destroyed buildings and the terrified Haitianpeople overcrowded the streets in panic.
Within this framework, the management of the Private Sector of the Americas (SPA), the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), the Airports Council International for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC), Corporación América (CASA) and Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 started to take many actions in order to collect funds and help the Haitian people.
