Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 is present at the QUIKSILVER ISA WORLD JUNIOR SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP taking place at Piha Beach, New
Zealand, from the20th throughout 28th January.
With the aim of supporting Sports, the company presided over by
Julio Ernesto Gutierrez Conte, accompanies 12 sports men and women, the coach and the referee making up the
argentine team who will start competing tomorrow in order to get to the podium.
This International event is supported by Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit making organization presided over by
Julio Ernesto Gutierrez Conte, who is responsible for raising awareness of preventing
argentine beaches from being contaminated as well as of preserving the areas where Sports take place and in which waves are used as a recreational recourse.
At a very moving ceremony, the president of the International Surfing Association, Fernando Aguerre, declared the QUIKSILVER ISA WORLD JUNIOR SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP officially opened. As from today, 21 countries are trying to put their flags up to the highest step of the podium.
The Opening parade has taken place at Mission Bay, a place full of local color, at the suburbs of Auckland, specially conditioned to celebrate the beginning of the world event.
Every country involved in this competition, raised their colors along the streets in front of a big number of spectators who where waving at competitors throughout an hour approx.
The Maori culture, a feature of the island, was present throughout the whole ceremony. The perfect finale to the event was the traditional HAKA.
Top level sports men and women from Australia, USA, France, Hawaii and Brazil, amongst others, will be involved in this Sports event.
