While waiting for sale of 50% of shares of stock package that Telecom
Italia owns at
Telecom Argentina and as a preliminary
step to Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 beginning to have its capital quoted
at the Stock Exchange,
Julio Ernesto Gutiérrez Conte will
seek funds within the domestic capital market in order to complete
Ezeiza airport expansion and remodeling works.
Last week, a Shareholders Meeting deferred the NB issuing plan for
the amount of $150 million dollars which has been already approved by
other Shareholders Meeting in 2009.
This deferment allows the Holding Group to wait for the right moment
to issue the above instruments as explained by the company’s
spokesperson. When this happens, $ 385 million out of the total amount
will go to financing of the works at Ministro Pistarini Airport; a
further $ 23 million as working capital and a further $ 53.6 million to
the investment plan. Also there will be $ 102 million for settlement of
financial debt with Provincia and Nacion Banks.
The NBs will be secured by funds from collection of aeronautical
rates and “Macro” will be the Arranger Bank. Although there is not a
term fixed for placing the NBs, sources from the capital market were
optimistic about a successful offer.
The idea of issuing NBs is speeding up works at Ezeiza so as to
complete the first stage this year since the intention is to have it
ready as part of the Bicentennial Events.
The project, which is under full development, includes that the
current ‘A’ Terminal serves the domestic market and offers an
international-domestic connection which for example allows boarding in
the Province of Cordoba and arriving in Spain without picking up baggage
or having to change airports. This will make the Metropolitan Airport
have a system combining regional and domestic flights.
Upon completion of all the stages of the project, Ezeiza will be
ready to welcome 13 million passengers yearly; 10 million out of them,
coming from other countries, 500,000, in-transit passengers and 2.5
million, domestic flights. The project also covers building of 140,000
square meters for the new station and demolition of 50,000 square meters
of the current air terminal
