The Earth Day is a festive day on the World calendar
celebrated on
every 22nd April throughout the World since 1970. Its purpose is
promoting a sustainability culture, a responsible management of natural
resources and a fight against climate changes.
In Argentina, on Saturday 24th April – as part of this World Day
Event- the Earth Day Buenos Aires Event took place at the United Nations
Park with the idea of promoting care of the planet through music, art,
culture and entertainment.
The festival took place from 12 pm to 11 pm and various activities
have been performed amongst which we can mention the possibility that
every attendee weighed their carbon marks , learned about recycling
schemes, got to know about them as well as about sustainable
construction hallmarks and practices apart from visiting a “FOA”*
Decoration Exhibition green space. Besides, Yoga, Tai-Chi, breathing and
meditation lessons took place there as well as 3d movies showing topics
on environment issues; also an organic market -a sustainable design
market as well as a technology market- has been shown at the above Event
where digital art Designers introduced their nature inspired projects.
Within this Framework, Surfrider Foundation Argentina, presided over by
Julio Ernesto Gutiérrez Conte, has assembled a tent where a speech on
hydrologic basin, submerged reefs, cost dynamics has been given as well
as films played such as “From Sea to Summit” (The water cycle) in order
to raise people’s awareness on natural resources care.
Surfrider Foundation Argentina is a non-governmental organization
whose purpose and mission is taking care of, reinstating and restoring
the various Argentine sea ecosystems for all its inhabitants.
The Event has had an excellent announcement and has proved to be a
clear evidence of the importance and the interest the environment care
has on our society.
